In line with the most transparent practices for non-profit and charitable organizations, Shibli Trust budgets 90% of expenditures for programs. The remaining 10% is allocated for administrative and fundraising expenses. Administrative expenses ensure Shibli Trust’s effectiveness in managing the funds entrusted and include accounting, professional development of staff, external auditors, legal counsel, official registration expenses, fees for processing donations, bank fees, database maintenance, and office expenses. Fundraising expenses generate the income needed to facilitate the tasks Shibli Trust has set out to fulfil. These include the cost of direct mail appeals and communication, donor relations, coordination expenditures, and operating electronic mail and other forms of offline and online bulletins for publicizing the programs and appeals.
Donations are non-refundable. Shibli Trust will honor donors’ requests for any pre-approved program or project whenever possible. In rare occasions where this is unattainable, donations and gifts are dispensed where needed, in line with the organization’s charitable purpose and pledge to transparency and accountability. As per this policy, donors explicitly release Shibli Trust from further restriction on such funds.
